Kelsey Thompson announces the trailer for his film Locals Only, slated for release in spring 2011, is now available online.

A word from Kelsey Thompson, the producer.

After eight long months on the road I'm happy to say that I'm done shooting and the official trailer for Locals Only is online! It's been a long but very enjoyable and rewarding experience thus far and even though I'm really just getting into the brunt of the editing work I already feel a great since of accomplishment and pride toward this project. I first thought up the idea for Locals Only in my car about a year and a half ago while driving from the Ottawa river home to Nova Scotia. A lot has happened between now and then but I feel great knowing that I am able to bring my idea to fruition and will soon be sharing it with the world. 

Everything we do in life has it's ups and downs and for me one of the things that has given me the most headaches in regard to Locals Only has been putting together a trailer. Cramming hours and hours of footage (I've shot close to 200 hours of footage for this video) into one clip that sums up your entire movie is an incredibly daunting process and one that I've struggled with. For each segment of this video I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted the final segment to look like and what I needed to do to get it there before I even picked up my camera. Since I wasn't shooting for a trailer I didn't really have a plan or final vision of what it would look like though. Rather than opening my editing suite and getting straight to work I found myself sorting through all of my footage and trying to come up with a plan from there. Although things started slow I eventually gained control of the situation and arrived with this final version.
