CBC Interview: Fast Rivers, Slow Internet

Listen to Mark Brownlee's CBC Radio interview with Rapid Media's founder and publisher Scott MacGregor about the challenges of high-speed Internet (or lack of) and business in the Whitewater Capital.

MacGregor started Rapid magazine in small-town Ottawa Valley because it is where rivers flow. Information on the other hand moves like a millpond.

"In the early days we were on dial-up," remembers MacGregor. "Then satellite—both systems—local providers and now we are using a cell tower service."

It hasn't been easy making Palmer Rapids the headquarters for Rapid Media but, says MacGregor, it beats living in the city.
